For over 20 years, and in partnership with the world’s largest environmental services company, Separo has supplied sludge and effluent treatment services to the UK’s largest refinery. Our client for this undertaking is one of the world's largest publicly traded international oil and gas companies.
As with all refineries, the production of petroleum products generates an enormous volume of hazardous fluid waste. If un-treated such waste streams can be a threat to statutory compliance and impact upon plant and process efficiency. Due to the high liquid content, disposing of the material is extremely expensive and wastes valuable resources.
For 20 years Separo has supplied a permanent, central treatment facility for this refinery, specifically designed to receive, pre-treat, process and separate a broad range of hazardous fluid waste streams at source.
Treatment at source by Separo has provided two decades of certainty with environmentally safe, cost-saving, fluid waste and effluent treatment for our client. Almost all fluid waste streams containing hydrocarbons have been processed at source, with valuable resources recovered and retained for re-use. The depth of experience and quality of our equipment and procedures has ensured that 20 years of operating daily in a potentially explosive atmosphere has been without any significant health and safety incident.
